Esquel is situated to the northwest of the Province of Chubut,
620 km from the provincial capital and 1900 km from Buenos
Aires. Its geographic coordinates are 42º54'35" South Latitude
and 71º18'38" West Longitude. Surrounded by up to 2000 m high
mountains, Esquel is 560 meters above sea level. With its
32000 inhabitants, it is the most important city of the Chubut
mountain range area.
